Over the two-week happiness challenge, you should hopefully have learned so many things, including what true happiness is, how to connect with the real you, uncovering your passions and making those first steps on your journey to realise your true potential. But also how to silence your inner critic, how be happy and successful, the fears you need to face (and how to face them), plus the importance of being grateful with the things, people and experiences we have in life, big or small. The masterclass was bursting with so many wonderful stories, learnings and exercises, and you now have all the tools you need to live a full and happy life. With all that love and happiness in your body, mind and soul, why not pay the good vibes forward?
TODAY’S HAPPINESS TASK
Pay the happiness forward! Here are 5 ways to share the love and help make those around you happy.
1. Share the Masterclass
The Happiness Masterclass will be available to access, free of charge, indefinitely! That means you can share the 14-day plan with loved ones and colleagues. Why not tell at least two people about your experience and encourage them to start their happiness journey today? Mo shared so much information that if you feel like you need a refresher at any time, you can also re-do the masterclass.
2. Tell the Truth
On day 2 of the Happiness Masterclass, you learned that it’s sometimes hard to see who you are. Many people struggle to see their authentic selves, so if you know a friend constantly putting themselves down or has low self-esteem, why not give them a compliment that goes beyond, ‘I like your jacket’? Please provide them with praise for their character. Maybe they are a great listener, someone you can always rely on, or they always make you smile with their kind words and actions. Compliment something meaningful.
3. Be Outwardly Grateful
Being grateful is contagious, in a good way! It can help build mutual feelings of trust and admiration. Tell your partner, parent, friend or colleague that you are grateful for them, try to be specific and tell them what it is that they have said or done that you are incredibly grateful for. It will be a little gift of happiness that is guaranteed to make them smile.
4. Volunteer!
If you take one thing away from the Happiness Masterclass, hopefully, it’s that there is a lot in your life to be happy about. If you do feel grateful and happy for the life you have, why not share some of the love and try volunteering an hour a week to a good cause? Perhaps it’s offering companionship or running errands for an elderly person, or mentoring a young person who wants to have the same career as you? Whatever it is, think about ways that you can volunteer a little time each week to help others.
5. Encourage Someone to Face Their Fears
On day 9 we asked you to schedule some time to face one of your fears. It’s tough, we know. So, why not see if there is someone you know with the same fear and face it together? Do you know that saying ‘a problem shared is a problem halved’? Well, facing your fear alone can be incredibly daunting but having someone at your side, who is going through it too, means you have each other to lean on, champion, and support.
And Don’t Forget...Make Happiness a Habit
Happiness takes constant daily work. Keep on it! You now have all the tools you need to forge a life full of happiness, filled with passion and purpose. Much like eating healthy or going to yoga, make time in your schedule to incorporate this happiness work into your daily life and flex your happiness muscle every day. It will put you on the right path to fulfilling your true potential and making the most of your life.
Now you have all the tools you need to lead a happier life, why not join our 5-day Joy to the World masterclass with Mo Gawdat, former Chief Business Officer at Google and author of Solve for Happy?
