A morning meditation to help you cultivate joy

Joy is our default setting, yet the stress of life can so easily mean we lose that connection. This meditation will help you reconnect to that joyful state of mind.

 

Joy is the key to emotional wellbeing – if you have joy then you are more resilient, you know life isn’t easy, but with a joyful mindset you understand that you can make lemonade with the lemons life throws at you. 

 

As The Book of Rituals describes it, "Joy is a state of mind induced by a connection with yourself, with others, and with the world around you. Joy is peace, calm, fulfilment, and contentment. Joy resides in the soul. 

 

“Whatever your life looks like today and whatever you may feel – happiness, delight, negativity, comfort, or despair – you, and only you, are the creator of your own joy. Or, lack of it. Joy does not simply happen to you. You have to keep choosing it every single day." 

 

Joy is that feeling you have that, no matter what life throws at you, you can handle it. This meditation will help you reconnect with that joyful state of mind; it’s the perfect way to start the day.
