Riding those brainwaves
Soundwaves have a powerful effect on your wellbeing. For instance, there is green noise (think mid-range frequencies like the sound of a stream) that helps with falling asleep. Pink noise sounds like steady rain and waves, that also helps you fall asleep whilst aiding in boosting sleep quality. Steeped in science, white noise (the most common being static) has also been included as it is promotes and improves sleep by helping the brain and body to relax.
Also, beautifully woven into the track are binaural beats. These are different frequencies played into the left and right ears - which is why this soundscape is best experienced through headphones. Once the two frequencies reach the brain, the tones intertwine to form one beat with a new frequency. It is this frequency that was discovered to have powerful physical and mental benefits.
Our brainwaves tend to alternate between two states when we are sleeping – Theta (around 3.5 to 7.5 Hz) believed to help trigger lucid dreaming and Delta (around 0.1 to 3.5Hz) that can help you stay asleep, and this soundscape utilises both.
